I’m currently working on a performance derived from the poems, in which I play Doggy le Bussy, my dog-drag alter-ego. As he imagines inter-species transitions and fantasises about hybrid incarnations, he recounts a life marked by assigned otherness. Loneliness, vulnerability, but also the possibility for the powerful kind of kinship that can only grow between misfits.
In this project, the figure of the « dog
boy » represents the state of inhabiting a space of in-betweenness, heavily inspired from my experience as a trans and queer man, both in the straight and the gay world. The story is auto-fictional, but rather than taking the angle of realism and testimony, I want to exploit the possibility of imagining other worlds and other images. This way, Dog poems for dog boys aims for a taste at the intersection of intimacy and absurdity, sincereness and whimsy, with touches of adolescent cringe.
Continuing a trajectory started in A body of work is just a body (2025), I will dive in my love for musicals and my desire to play with sounds and my voice, and will explore song composition as storytelling.

The creation of the performance is supported by Het Bos/Bosacademie through a residency in August-September 2026.
